Cheated...

Dead.

“To us!” He smiles and then frowns. His eyes reflect horror.

The waitress puts the glasses.

“…a mistake! Shouldn’t have died! Did what you wanted right?” The man smiles and orders Beer.

“Meet me at Thugs, I want to thank you”, the phone says. He believes it…

[Entry for a 55 word story writing competition. The topic was "cheating". And I quote the Forgotten Wise; GO FIGURE!! :D ]

Whoooooooooo!!!

NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER in my life have I read a narrative and then been stumped by the realization that I am supposed to be reading it from the end. Its like starting from the last page and going to the first.

These are concepts that leave you staring at the monitor with a smile of resignation on your face at the expert handling of a narration. Then they make you want to stand up and applaud.

I only wish you didn’t have the word limit. That would have been a total challenge, na…?

And you seem to be on a roll these days with some really unique experiments that are producing some cool alloys and elements. Maybe I should break into your lab and steal your formulae!!!

Extremely well written!!! :D

PS: Go ahead and make me proud again and again....all the world's an empty book and you are the one with the pen!!!

I feel i'm not worthy enough to comment. But honestly your thought process in completely out of this world. The best part is you are influenced by the things around U but in a good way:). dont you dare stop writing.

Ashmita said...

Dammit. Thats brilliant stuff.
How on earth did you ever come up with it?!

Zlaek said...

Thanks for that hint. And right now I feel so inadequate/...
Only because i cannot de-scribe (:P) how I feel about the post as aptly as Preeti did.
"These are concepts that leave you staring at the monitor with a smile of resignation on your face at the expert handling of a narration. Then they make you want to stand up and applaud."
I believe thats the closest one can get... Way to go!
Cheers.

Writing within a word limit and making your reach clear, is the toughest job. Bows and applause to you.
